TEA is not tea party related

I just got home and pulled a mailer from my mailbox. This mailer was sent out by TEA (a political party that is using the tea party movement for its own selfish gains) supporting a local candidate. Please do not be fooled by this mailer. TEA has no association with the tea party movement at all! In fact, Don Hersenling has filed lawsuits against TEA candidates for intentionally attempting to mislead Florida voters. This mailer is an attempt to mislead the voters of Hillsborough county!

In fact there are real tea party groups suing TEA re:South Florida Tea Party, Inc., et al., v. Tea Party, et al., Case No. 9:10-cv-80062-MARRA/Johnson, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. This mailer is an example the those involved with TEA are despicable and lack any integrity.

Can Conservatives Regroup Under the Republican Tent?

Well it’s late July 2009 and the mid-term election season is fast approaching. Candidates are starting to jockey for position. The national picture is something of a mess do the onslaught of programs and travesties the Obama administration has perpetrated upon the American public. The veneer is starting to fade from the great one from the land of Lincoln. There are even various republicans and democrats behaving like free-market Americans. Things seem so much more promising than just three months ago.

The glow of tea party mania still burns bright in the hearts of the faithful. Many of you that were upset with those individuals you voted into office as republicans a few short years ago. At every tea party there were signs of disgust for those republicans that “stopped acting like republicans!” But it seems like the tide may be turning and the question on everyone’s mind is “Can the republican party find its soul and re-group?” Will the Republican Party be able call home those that have left the ranch?

But conversation in my circle has a different tone. Many of the people that had abandoned the GOP are coming down from a grassroots high to see what reality is showing them. The only vehicle that is equipped to win any race right now is the GOP. Reality says that the infrastructure that is necessary to win in 2010 is only available through the GOP. In my opinion it seem like instead trying to win the 2010 election in some solar powered experimental third part vehicle the smart play would be to turbo charge the GOP vehicle, re-staff the pit crew and get a get an owners stake in the team and drive the GOP to it new goal of saving the republic!

So can we put our differences aside long enough to strengthen the country with the principles that we share? We are the ones that we have been waiting for!

Are You Serious?

There are more articulate people on the web than myself with out doubt. So you will have to forgive my lack of writing style. You will just have to hang on to the words I write and divine where my heart is in this matter.

For many many year black people in this country have been led around by the nose by a group of people that kept them from learning to read, let alone attending universities. They have led by a group of people that bought and sold their great-great grand parents let alone lend them money to start a business!

Why do we follow these people. These people that promise bounty but only deliver bondage! When are we going to lift our heads and see what our future is. When are going to see the "do-gooders" for who they realy are? The new massa!

Just like the slaves, they need us. With out us they cannot carry out their plan. Or get the cotton crop in. Without our support there is no way they can keep power. Remember the 3/5 compromise? And what have we gotten for our servatude? Nothing, but 50 years of teen pregnacy, black on black crime, fatherless households!

Its time for change! What do you think?

Today I Will Make History

My friends

Today like everyday is an historic day for me. Today is a day that the promise of America remains real to me. Today is a day that the hope that is the American dream inspires me more than it did yesterday. Today I will make history.

The history that I will make may never be found in the pages of children’s schoolbooks. The history that I make today may not ever be seen on television. The history that I make today will live in the hearts and minds of those that these words touch. Today I will make history.

Today I will speak the truth. I will use the bravery of those that have come before me to speak the truth. I will use the sacrifices of those that gave their lives to speak the truth. I will stand on the shoulders of the greatest of our time to speak the truth. Today I will make history.

The truth of America is both painful and poignant. The truth of America we should celebrate and be challenged by. The truth of America is a story penned by millions of those that dreamed of a better day and now demand that I make history. Today I will make history.

I will point out the injustices that plague America. I will point out the pockets of moral decay that continue to hold some Americans in the bondage of poverty and lack. I will point out all those truths that are painful to hear because they challenge us. These truths challenge us to make history. Today I will make history.

After so much time many would hope that the demon of racism would not be truth in America. The truth is that racism exists in America. The truth is that racism is not bound to any particular group but spreads itself over our landscape like a filthy rag. Racism touches each corner of our country.Racism has integrated itself into the speech of every race, every creed and every religion of America today. Racism has integrated itself into every age group of America. Racism has integrated itself into every financial strata of America. That is a painful truth. Racism may indeed be a truth but it does not have to be the truth of our future.

The path of our future is illuminated by the light of truth. The truth that all men are created equal. The truth of all men have the basic rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These are those truths that I will speak today. Today I will make history!

Today I will speak for all Americans born and unborn. In recent history 50 million Americans have not been given those basic rights that I spoke of earlier. These Americans have paid with their lives the price of irresponsibility. Today I speak for those Americans. Today I will make history!

Today I will speak for those that understand that there is a price for freedom and that some must be willing to pay that price. I will speak for those that since the start of this republic that have been willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for this country. I will continue to speak for them and their families. Today I will make history.

Today I speak for those families that have been the basic fiber that makes up the fabric of this country. I will speak for those families that do the hard work of raising each of the next generations of Americans. I will speak for those families that continue to produce Americans that are those most philanthropic humans on this planet. Today I will make history.

Today I will not do anything that special. Today I will not be on the world stage. Today I will speak to millions. Today like you I will speak to my neighbor. Today like you I will speak to my friends. Today like you, I will speak to my family and my co-workers. Today we all have the opportunity to speak up for America. Today we all have the opportunity to shout down those that benefit from the lies of America. Today we all have the opportunity to change the destiny of America and American and in that make history. Today join me, as we make history! God bless you and the United States of America!

The Opportunity of a Lifetime!

If you are republican that was against the passing of the so-called stimulus bill that the Senate passed today, then you have a wonderful opportunity to get involved in politics at the highest level you ever have! With the passage of this bill you have been told by the opposition that ( in case you didn't know) we won and we will do anything we want to. The opposition even said to republicans, you are not even strong enough to keep all of your people "in-line". Now is the time you have been waiting for. A time to back up what you have been saying for months now. This is your opportunity to show those liberals what the real deal is! You now have the chance to be a part of a revolution again. You get the chance let those "fat-cat" congress people know that they work for you! So grab of copy of the congressional telephone directory and get busy! This is no time to sit with your head in your hand lamenting the sorry state of the country. This is not time to wish you could bring back Ronald Reagan. This is not the time to be upset with John McCain. After all we picked John McCain, we just didn't support him and like Job what you have greatly feared has come upon you! This is your opportunity! This is your chance to find out if you believe half of the things Rush Limbaugh says you do. This is your chance see if you indeed have the Mark Levine intelligence. Can you get off the couch after eating the soma of Glenn Beck? What are you made of? Are you an American that understands what sacrifice really is? Are you willing to sacrifice the time it will take to write a well crafted email to your representatives? Are you willing to make a phone call to those same people? Are you willing to be a little embarrassed calling your local talk radio show? Are you willing to give up "24" for one night to organize with people in your neighborhood that feel like you do right now? What are you willing to give up? This indeed may be a great night for you! This night could define you for the rest of your political life. Are you ready to stand up for your country? This is the Opportunity Of A Lifetime!

George and Weezie go to Washington!

America has her first African-American couple in the White House. Truly something I am sure the British Prime Minister understood as an exciting thing here in the states. I am sure that he and his wife were looking forward to meeting president Obama and the first lady. In fact, they came bearing gifts from abroad. But before the gift exchange could occur, the President told our guests that he was not going to be able to attend the joint press conference that was scheduled. I am guessing that maybe his back went out and Mr. Bentley had to walk out the kinks. Its like inviting people over and while they are en route saying that you are not going to be home. Just wait in the driveway! Well all that got worked out, but then it got really funny. Now first one has to understand the diplomatic practice of bearing symbolic gifts. This is not new to diplomacy. Bearing gifts is a practice as old as time. So you think that someone in the president's staff might have hipped to it. Now heres, the deal. The gifts are for the most part valuable and have some significance in the countries' history. So.... Prime Minister Brown brought two symbolic gifts and one that expressed national pride. Brown came bearing a pen holder carved from the timbers of the sister ship of that which gave the wood to create the famous "Resolute Desk," the desk that has been in America's charge since 1880. He also gave Obama the framed commission for that famous ship, the HMS Resolute. His third gift was a seven-volume biography of one of England's greatest leaders, Winston Churchill. Wow, pretty good stuff! You would put all that stuff behind a velvet rope or something. Wait Mrs. Brown had some gift for our first lady. Mrs. Brown came bearing two outfits for the Obama girls from Topshop, one of Britain's trendiest and expensive women's wear retail outlets. Okay, now the stakes on the gift giving scale are pretty high don't you think? After all we did blow off the presser. You would think that big boom of a gift was coming. I was thinking like something from Tiffany's in New York. Maybe calling up his friend Oprah Winfrey and getting a car or something. Heck, Tyler Perry gave Oprah a Bentley I am pretty sure they could have come up with a Chrysler 300 or something but... 25 movies on DVD. That was it. 25 dvds. I just pray that they weren't bootleg. Well they might as well been bootleg because the DVD standard in England is different than the United States so the 25 movies are not going to play in the Prime Minister's DVD player. Well the fun wasn't over, the first lady panicked and called for a staffer to run down to the White House gift shop and grab two toy Marine One helicopters for the Brown's sons. Nice! Movin' on up!

I Have Always Been Proud to be an American

For 48 years I have been blessed to be an American. During this election cycle I have talked to so many people that do not understand or realize what we really have here in America. Go back with me.....

The first time I saw lady Liberty I was just 6 years old. It was my first ride on a boat and I was so excited. Our class was on a field trip to ride the Statton Island ferry and to see the Statue of Liberty. All of the week of the trip was filled what the statue and Ellis Island was all about. It was filled withe stories of the peole that came to these shores for hopes of a better life. It was filled with stories of how happy they were when they first caught glimpse the torch. It made me feel special that I was born here. My teacher made me feel special that I was born here and had all the benefits that are offered in the United States.

During that same time we lived on the top floor of a two family house in Newark New Jersey. The father of the family downstairs was a police officer. I remember his uniform sleeve had an American flag on it. I asked him why. I will never forget what he said to me. He told me that it was because the United states was the best country on earth and we should be proud. he was the black man I new that was important. People always did what he told them to do. Its was cool when let us sit in his patrol car and listen to the radio.

After some time Dr. King was killed and I remember watching the funeral on television. I remember watching tears stream down my moms face and the husband of the family she worked for as well. He called me up on his lap and told me that this was still a wonderful country, and I believed him. My mom later told me that they were a nice Jewish family. I had no idea what she was talking about but I did know that he had told me some very important.

Then it was the moon landing. I remember everyone inside watching this event. I lived in an all black neighborhodd here in Tampa by then. Every television was on as Neal Armstrong planted that flag. After the program had ened I saw the adults out talking about it and they seemed so excited. I don't remember who said it but it stuck. One of the adults said, "This country can do anything!" I still believe that.
